Jagan stages Roadshows in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam
YSR Congress Party president and Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy staged a whirlwind one-day tour in Visakhapatnam Sunday. Though, he was supposed to conduct roadshows on Saturday, Jagan postponed it by one day as he had to rush to Narasapur to call on MLA M Prasada Raju whose father Satyanarayana Raju died in a road accident. The YSR Congress Party leaders and activists made arrangements for roadshows in the city.
Jagan charged the ruling Congress and primary opposition Telugu Desam Parties for conspiring to defame the former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Addressing several roadshows in the city, Jagan said that even though YSR is in the hearts of people as a revered and admired leader who worked all the time for the development of the people, the Congress and TDP are now resorting to defaming him for political gains. Public meetings of the YSR Congress Party were held at Peda Waltair, VS Krishna College grounds, Gajuwaka, Lankelapalem, Anakapalle, Addu Road, Vempadu and Payakaropeta. Jagan criticized the current Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy for diluting the schemes introduced by YSR. He said that Kiran Kumar is trying to create an image for himself at the cost of the development of the people. The Congress and TDP parties are striving hard to ensure two party system in the State.
Addressing a public meeting in Payakaraopeta constituency, Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the situation of the farmers in the State is pathetic. He said that the farmers are not getting a decent Minimum Support Price for their produce. He said that the situation is so pathetic that the 108 ambulance service which should respond within 20 minutes is taking a minimum of 2 hours to respond to emergency calls.
Earlier, Jagan congratulated YSR Congress Party city convener Vamsi Krishna on his birthday. He garlanded the state of BR Ambedkar at the LIC junction and later unveiled a statue of YSR at Peda Waltair.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has staged Odarpu Yatra in Visakhapatnam in January last year.
