Jagan Mohan Reddy thanks his group of MLAs for sticking to their principles

The no-confidence motion yesterday was one of the the historical moments in the country, said YSR Congress Party chief Jagan Mohan Redy. Speaking at a press conference held at Lotus Pond, Jagan Mohan Reddy said that MLAs who stood by him and who voted against the Government yesterday because of the respect they have in YSR have defined the meaning for trust and values. Jagan said that he is proud of them.

Jagan criticized TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu saying that after viewing the no-confidence debate yesterday, one is sure to question whether the no-trust motion is for the problems faced by farmers in the State or on former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. He said that Chandrababu Naidu spent a lot of time trying to defame YSR, rather than talk about the problems of farmers because of drought in the State. He said that one could understand the farmers problems only by meeting them in person and touring in villages. On the other hand, the Government has spent a lot of time trying to threaten the his group of MLAs.

The Congress party has tried several ways to influence the MLAs, he said. When they didn't success, they tried to threaten them. Jagan said that the MLAs are not afraid to face the consequences and are even ready to face the disqualification petition. He challenged the Government to move a disqualification against the MLAs.

Sucharitha alleges threatening

Speaking earlier, Prathipadu MLA Sucharitha Mekathoti alleged that the Congress party tried to threaten her to vote in favor of the Government in the no-confidence voting yesterday. She said that they threatened to transfer her husband who is a Central Government employee to Andaman and Nicobar islands if she didn't vote against the no-trust vote yesterday. She wouldn't compromise on her principles and vowed to bring YSR's principles to the people.

Surekha ready to face bye-elections

Parkal MLA Konda Surekha suggested the Government to leave their threatening politics and try to put that energy to help solve the problems faced by the people in the State. She said that they are ready to face bye-elections if the Government invokes the disqualification petition against them. She condemned the remarks made by Botcha Satyanarayana against YSR in the Assembly yesterday. Surekha reminded that it is Botcha Satyanarayana who collected the signatures of Congress party leaders to make Jagan the chief minister after the demise of Rajasekhara Reddy.

Ambati Rambabu said that the no-trust vote yesterday proves that the strength of Congress has decreased from 144 to 136. He said that the Government was able to survive only because the Praja Rajyam Party and the MIM parties and thus they don't have the moral right to stay in power.

Another MLA Pilli Subash Chandra Bose also said that they are ready to face bye-elections and not are not threatened by the action that would be taken by the Congress party.
